CHALLENGE

With Netflix as the new home of WWE in Australia, and the WWE returning to Australian soils, INVNT was tasked with highlighting Netflix not only as the home of WWE, but of live sports and titles generally. Our objective was to capture the energy of live sports by sharing it in real time with fans on the ground and across social media. 

STRATEGY

INVNT came up with the idea of “Netflix Sports Club”, a pop-up fan hub during WWE Perth weekend built around live sports experiences. The activation showcased Netflix’s growing live sports slate through interactive activations, talent appearances, and a VIP watch party. Additional elements included boxing machines, mini-golf, trivia battles, chair-smash challenges, a custom barber for WWE-style ring read mullets, trophy room and live broadcasts from the WWE Crown Jewel Watch Party plus a Son of a Donkey Fan experience.

IMPACT

Under the platform “drama has no offseason”, we successfully leveraged WWE fandom as a hook while showcasing Netflix’s expanding live sports slate and diverse sports storytelling. The result was a fan-first, interactive, and highly shareable experience that positioned Netflix as the new home of live sports entertainment.
