CHALLENGE
After more than a decade of evolution, 3DEXPERIENCE World needed to continue delivering something fresh and unexpected for its audience—without compromising financial discipline, operational efficiency, or sustainability goals. Dassault Systèmes wanted to create a more engaging show floor experience, introduce new activations, and elevate key attendee environments, all while keeping costs in line and reducing the event’s environmental impact.
The exhibit hall presented a particularly complex planning environment. Extensive power and internet requirements demanded precise coordination across design, logistics, installation, and exhibitor services.
Five weeks before the event, a mini-Playground experience was added at an entirely separate venue. The expanded scope demanded rapid planning and operational coordination to execute both event environments while keeping the main expo on track.
STRATEGY
Building on a long-standing partnership with INVNT, Dassault Systèmes expanded the relationship by bringing in sister companies Fern for general contracting and Nth Degree for labor. The established relationship created a strong foundation of trust and institutional knowledge, allowing the integrated team to align quickly around the event’s goals, audience, and operational needs.
INVNT led an integrated model that streamlined decision-making and execution across strategy, operations, financial management, exhibitor services, logistics, and labor. Working as a single, connected team, we reimagined the entire show floor, proposing a new layout designed to change attendee movement and increase dwell time. We created an elevated expo theater, planned and executed new activations, and delivered sustainability efforts like carpet-free exhibit hall aisles. The integrated approach also gave us the flexibility to scale quickly and deliver a second mini-Playground activation at a separate venue while maintaining flawless execution of the main expo.
IMPACT
The integrated operating model gave Dassault Systèmes a more connected and efficient way to manage the many interdependent elements of a large, technically complex user conference. Rather than coordinating across separate partners and workstreams, the event team could collaborate with a single, aligned partner capable of connecting strategic decisions with operational, financial, and on-site execution.
The successful delivery of the reimagined main expo and the additional mini-Playground demonstrated the team’s ability to adapt quickly and absorb new scope without compromising the broader program. The redesigned show floor layout, refreshed expo theater, and new activations brought renewed energy to the exhibit hall and created more memorable opportunities for attendee engagement.
At the same time, streamlined planning, coordinated labor and logistics, and more sustainable material choices helped 3DEXPERIENCE World continue to evolve while maintaining control over costs and environmental impact and keeping a complex event running smoothly.
